iShipTo vs Extensiv

Looking for an Extensiv alternative? Here’s the math without the per-client fee.

Extensiv's $599 base + $50/client charges punish the thing every SMB 3PL is trying to do — land more clients. iShipTo is flat $59-$349/mo with no per-client fees.

Why operators move

The four reasons we hear most.

Real conversations with operators evaluating a switch off Extensiv. Same patterns, every time.

The per-client fee punishes the wrong thing.

Every SMB 3PL is trying to land more clients — and Extensiv charges you $50/mo for the privilege of each one. Land a $1,200/mo retainer, lose $50 to software, your effective margin drops before you ship a box. Operators tell us they delayed onboarding clients waiting for the next billing cycle. Flat pricing flips that — your 11th client costs zero in additional software.

$599 base assumes mid-market scale.

Extensiv is built for 50–500 employee operations with multi-warehouse, multi-currency, deep EDI integration needs. If you are a 4-person 3PL with one warehouse and 8 clients, you are paying for code that never executes against your data. The $599 base is the entry fee to a room you do not need to be in.

Tablet-first receiving matters on the dock floor.

Your receiver is on a 10" Android tablet at the dock, not a workstation in an office. iShipTo's receiving flow was designed for that hardware first — large tap targets, photo capture native, variance auto-flag the moment a line closes. Extensiv's UI was designed for desktop and adapted; the difference shows up in dock-floor adoption rates.

Self-serve setup, not a 4–8 week sales cycle.

Extensiv onboarding runs sales-led for weeks before your first client is live. iShipTo is under 5 minutes — sign up with $1.99, create your first client, scan your first inbound. If you change your mind in week 2, cancel in two clicks. The cost of evaluating us is $1.99 and one afternoon.

Pricing

What you actually pay, side-by-side.

Both column headers are real. iShipTo publishes three flat tiers — pick one. Extensiv publishes a base, then adds per-client fees on top; higher tiers are quoted by their sales team.

The math at 10 clients: Extensiv = $599 base + (10 × $50) = $1,099/mo. iShipTo Growth = $179/mo flat. That is $11,040 a year for the same client count — before you even compare features.

Honest take

When Extensiv is the better choice.

We’re not the right answer for every warehouse. If any of these describe your operation, Extensiv is probably the better fit today — and we’ll tell you that on a sales call rather than waste your time:

  • You are mid-market (50–500 employees)

Extensiv is built for the operational complexity of mid-market 3PLs — finance teams, dedicated IT, mature ops processes. iShipTo is tuned for the 1–10 person operator wearing the founder/ops/sales hat. Different problem shape.

  • You run multi-warehouse with load balancing today

If you operate 3+ warehouses and need active inventory load balancing across them, Extensiv's multi-warehouse engine is battle-tested. Multi-warehouse on iShipTo ships in Phase 2 — coming, not here.

  • You need multi-currency invoicing

If you bill international clients in EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, you need Extensiv's multi-currency support today. iShipTo invoices in USD only at launch; multi-currency is on the roadmap but not shipped.

For everyone else — 1 to 10 clients, single warehouse, USD invoicing, evaluating WMS for the first time — we built iShipTo for your cost structure specifically.

Common questions

What operators ask when they’re evaluating a switch.

  • Yes. We accept CSV exports of products, inventory snapshots, clients, and historical purchase orders. The Growth and Pro plans include bulk CSV import; Pro adds dedicated migration assistance — we will sit on a call and map your Extensiv fields ourselves. We recommend cutting over on a Monday after a clean Friday close so open orders finish on Extensiv's side.
